Elyse White

Elyse has lived in the Southern Highlands for over 40 years, moving to Colo Vale 15 years ago.  Together with her husband Gary, she has operated a number of businesses in the Highlands before studying law in the late 1980’s.  She has worked with Marsdens Law Group for 26 years, practising in the areas of estate litigation.  Elyse was appointed as an Assessor with the State Insurance Regulatory Authority in 2003 and continues to assess claimants injured in motor vehicle accidents.  She enjoys community based programs and is passionate about preserving the Colo Vale Community Association’s greatest asset, the hall in Railway Parade.

John Stead

Pam & John have been residents of Colo Vale for 14 years and have been actively involved in the Community Association for all that time. They are both retired, John being a Returned Vietnam Veteran and ex-President of the Association.
Pam is currently a presenter on Highland FM 107.1 and presents Sweet Soul Saturday from 2 – 5 every Saturday. They have been married for 25 years and love living in Colo Vale.

Jim White

Jim White is a long term resident of Colo Vale and a recent newcomer to the Association’s Committee as Treasurer.  Jim is a music industry veteran spending almost 30 years at Festival Records rising to Managing Director, moving to the Record Industry Association, AIRA, as General Manager for a further 10 years before retiring.

Secretary

Meryl Gross

Meryl Gross has owned property in Colo Vale for 30 years.  Before retiring full time to the Southern Highlands she spent 40 years working in the recording industry in senior management heading up the International Division of Festival Records and then moving to head up the ABC’s record label.  Meryl also spent 15 years as CEO of the music industry Charity, Support Act Limited in a voluntary capacity.

Public Officer

Steve Bartos

Steve and Sheryle Bartos moved to Colo Vale in 2014 and joined the local Community Association in early 2015. Steve is now the Public Officer for the Colo Vale Community Association Inc.  Steve spent 22 years in the Army in the Corps of the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (RAEME). He is a Vietnam Veteran. After his discharge from the Army in 1988, Steve spent 12 years in the private sector Managing Engineering Factories. Steve also spent 10 years with the Public Service Department of Defence. Steve retired in 2010.

Margaret Pigott

Margaret and Tom Pigott emigrated from England in 1980 and lived in Ingleburn before moving to Colo Vale twenty years ago.     In this twenty years they were fortunately able to travel to countries such as Philippines, China, Dubai and Turkey  as Tom was involved in the manufacture of Cranes.   On retirement five years ago they joined the Colo Vale Community Association.   Tom joined the Men’s Shed and Margaret the Craft and Chatter (Margaret very good at the chatter). Margaret has in the last three years taken a more active role in the running of the association and at this time  is the Events Co-ordinator and she is responsible for the hiring of the Hall. Tom is the Co-ordinator of the Men’s Shed.

Suzanne Ellis

Suzanne Ellis only moved to Colo Vale in 2015, but has thrown herself virtually into the deep end to assimilate and make new friends by joining the local Community Association. She retired with her husband Robert to an acreage after moving from Georges Hall, where for 15 years they owned a printing and graphic design business.

Ray Hayes

Ray has been a resident living in the Highlands for the last 42 years. He worked for the Railway for 34 years working as a Fettler, Train Driver and Training Officer. He attained the position of  Operations Manager which he held for 12 years until he retired 5 years ago.
